Hoa 'Āina o Mākaha is known for cultivating the land as well as children, building relationships and a healthier community. All 538 students at Mākaha Elementary School spend time in their outdoor classroom at "The Farm," tending to its animals, building "bee hotels," and raising thousands of pounds of vegetables.

The sounds of Hoa ‘Āina o Mākaha are the voices of students, tucking seeds into the soil with a gentle “good night” or giggling as they chase wayward chicks. Read more
